Let's Get Ready To Rumble!

YAAY! exams are over, sooo LET'S GET READY TO RUMMBBLLLEEEEE!!!!!!!!
(with Grandma)

THAT VOICE and a cascade of drunken electro soup welcomes you to the new Don Rimini EP. but tell me, what the heck is a "booty puncher" ?!!?!

Don Rimini - Ohow? (+ Intro by Sly Johnson)

Crookers take us back to the streets of brazil for some bouncy, crunked-out baile funk. this is huge - a surefire party starter.

Edu K - Gatas Gatas Gatas (Crookers Remix)

upcoming UK producer Foamo gives us another taste of his fun, elasticated sound. jacked-out beats meet wailing sirens and a hypnotic mantra before yielding to what i call the 'Foamo Fuck'. hold tight, london! expect to see this guy on the shelves next to the likes of Detboi, Hervé and Fake Blood...

Foamo - Everything Cool

The Bloody Beetroots churn out another killer - the whomping bassline they've put on this Micky Green track just works.

Micky Green - Shoulda (The Bloody Beetroots Remix)

and now here is some Fake Blood. what party would be complete without this (already!) classic track. sure, speculation into this illusive producer's identity may have helped the HUGE hype surrounding it, but it's definately not misplaced. the combination of retro synths and heavy, grinding bass offer something for everyone. and did i mention, it's HUGE! --- to be featured on playlists from Johannesburg to Vladivostok!

Fake Blood - Mars

BLISS BANKROLL
Daisy Daisy - Michelle Plays Ping Pong (Vicarious Bliss Remix)

Coping with exam stress.

Stalin says: EAT YOUR GREENS...AND YOUR WHITES (geddit..?)

NoOO!!!! exam season is starting (next week!) and so now the revision and stress levels are properly kicking in...nice. but how to deal with this perennial nightmare? some experts suggest that ensuring a healthy diet, taking regular exercise, getting enough sleep and undertaking special breathing techniques are, amongst other things, the best ways of ensuring a stress-free examination period. but i'm not so sure...i've come up with my own kind of full-on, musical, self-affronting therapy. right here, right now. so, here we go..this could go badly wrong...

these are the tracks which i feel represent my mental state and are my own efforts to deal with my current crap-o situation/make me forget about it entirely. in five simple steps. WISH ME LUCK!

number 1. the Faex rework: how my brain feels after reading about stalin's five-year fucking plans for about the five-hundredth fucking time. i almost feel as though my own individual welfare has been compromised for unrelentingly rapid heavy industrial growth on a national scale in order to compete with potential external/western threats (breathe in)..but that's actually bullshit. SLAM! -> to the track...

SebastiAn - Head/Off (Faex Rework)

number 2. manic, confused, jumpy, a little bit australian: that's exactly how i'm feeling. exactly.

AC/DC - Thunderstruck (Crookers Remix)

n
umber 3.
"We'll send you trippin'..trippin'.." enough said, Mr Lavelle. but it's not because this is actually another awesome track touched and tastefully soiled by the almighty Fake Blood - new godfather of the dancefloor. i think i possibly definately maybe want him to be my own actual dad. is that so wrong?

UNKLE - Restless (Fake Blood Remix)

number 4. enter Fake Blood's neanderthal, Atari-obsessed cousin, Boy 8-Bit. this one takes a while to build up, but when it hits climax, well, it really does: the calm before the tribal african/latin american dubbed-out baile storm. wow..that made no sense at all. although, when i listen to it, i do get images flashing through my mind of spears and masks..but less like, say, traditional african battle masks and more like the masks of ancient greek theatre. strange. and i like it.

Boy 8-Bit - Fog Bank

number 5. i feel this next track represents my spiralling descent through the concentric circles of my own personal exam hell. but that sounds so negative - and it is. but, actually, this is quite a cool tune ...almost as cool (and catchy) as its name.... take a peek, why don't you.

Giko - Asshole (Facteur Remix)

thinking about it, i now also feel like said 'asshole' for having left the majority of my work to the last minute, and now for procrastinating further by making this post. i don't think this therapy has worked. i don't think it's worked at all. shame. i feel worse. maybe i should go for a jog, eat some fruit and hyperventilate profusely..hopefully resulting in some sort of faintage/surprise 'nap'...that'll fix it...

ANXIETY KICKER
Don Rimini - Nervous Breakdown
